This is an outdoor club that sponsors kayaking, hiking and cycling trips. I joined the club in April of 2006 after my camping friend Bob had read a newspaper article about the club. He had just gotten a kayak and I was just about to bust into my "milk money" account for a kayak myself.

Although the club is headquartered in metro Orlando, Floridians throughout the peninsular are members; rightfully so because a majority of the trips are throughout the central peninsular region.

Florida is blessed with many clear and cold water spring rivers. And surprisingly, there are a number of rivers that have limestone bottoms that sometimes allows for a "little" quick-water shoal action (can't really call it white-water).

Because of my interest in leading trips in the early part of 2008, the nominating person requested that participate in the Wilderness Trekkers Board. I was appointed Vice President of the club. However, the most important contribution to the club is the complete redesign of the Wilderness Trekker webpage and the hours devoted to keep it up to date.

However, in the 2009-2010 season, I decided to take on the position of Events Coordinator.

Also, I am the unofficial marketing evangelist of the organization, adding the club to meetup.com as a portal to our own web site, creating a new brochure, and organizing some community outreach.
