September, 2008 - Tucker was growing out of his puppy face, his nose was getting longer, his legs were getting longer and his temperment was good. He learned the rules of the house fairly quick. We put a bell by the front door and Pam taught him to ring it with his nose went he needed to go out. After about 4 weeks he pretty much had it figured out. It works to this day.

October, 2008 - Tucker was enrolled at Obedience Class at Pet-Smart. It was an eight week session on sit, come, down and stay. Tucker just wanted to play. "Sit Tucker", "No, I want to play with the other dogs!" It probably would have been more productivity but I did not spent the time I should have on the program.

October, 2008 - Tucker is very social with other dogs as well as people. His is always ready to play; hence, the 2.2 GPA from obedience class. His best bud is Bear, Chris' Shiba Inu. At first Bear had shear weight advantage; now, withTuckers's long legs, Tucker dominates in most "wrasllin'" competition. Still, Bear shows Tucker who Top Dog around here.

November, 2008 - We don't have a huge back yard, but it is securely fenced and there is this little bit of "woods" in one spot where he can go off into the bush. Of course the best feature is the 3/4 acre dry retention pond next to the house. There he gets some good leg stretches; and had been known to run-off to the neighbors on the other side. |

December, 2008 - Fortunately, Clark and Pam are home during the week except for one day. That day Tucker gets to go to Doggie Daycare. He loves going there. They say he plays constantly and Tucker has a noon to 2:00 separation time for rest. Tucker is typically very tired on that evening. He also comes homes smelling like dog slobber. |

January, 2009 - When Clark works from home in "his office", Tucker gets to enjoy the comforts of the spare bed. He sleeps mostly, but he enjoys laying up on the bed and looking out over the front yard from the second story room because he can see birds, squirels, planes, cats and the neighbor's dog. |

January, 2009 - Tucker requires a lot of exercise to remain happy and balanced. Cesar Milan told me that; well, I read it in his book. And Tucker has this insatiable appitite for running. Since about November, I started him on bike runs. Now that is a daily routine that make him happy. He can only be off the leash provided there is active ball fetching involved; his exercise is augmented with serious ball chasing in the big field. He is a good retriever. |
